Contraversy in Australia over a pics of naked kids in art works has started up with even the "christian" PM (Prime Minister) wading in with comments about completely non-sexual art works being "Disgusting" & things he "can't stand".  A link to one story with other links is here:

Photographed girl defends nude magazine cover

Society needs to STOP looking at children through the eyes of a paedophile. There is nothing sexual about a naked child and every family has pics of the kids in the bath, at the beach & running around the back yard with nothing on (also great for embarassing them with years later at their 18th b'day party with their mates around). It's part of being a kid and the idea that people will stop letting their kids be kids or possibly stop taking pics of them for fear of being somehow "labelled" as sick is the truly disgusting part of this ridiculous contraversy.

I understand the PM's difficult position but anyone that finds pics of kids, naked or otherwise, "digusting" or something that they "can't stand" needs to SERIOUSLY re-think how they're looking at them. Art has always depicted the innocence and simpleness of children, whether in roman statues, "cherubs" peeing fountains or any of a thousand other art pieces through the ages.

We need to stop letting the urges of the perverted few control how society acts and focus on the problems that cause those people to turn out like that in the first place.

I agree - particularly since the model in question gave permission for the photos to be taken (there is actually a video interview)- the trend to soften everything is just a way to exercise control over freedom of thought.

eh i am not sure of this because i have a bad backround from when i was little so i would not put any naked children on no magazine anywhere because someone is bound to get a hold of them and do somthing to them so i am neutral on this one

Ever seen the nude child photography that Lewis Caroll made? They're gorgeous, and most of them are hidden from the public to hide the "possibility" that one of the most favourite authors in the world just might be a paedophile.

Kind of sad. But oh well.

As a parent of 2 kids... I couldn't agree with you more!

Hoo boy... It really sounds all of those critics really jumped the gun. I personally don't find anything inherently wrong with nudity, no matter the age. The picture was obviously not meant in to be sexual in any manner. I agree with you; every family has pictures of their kids in *gasp* a state of undress... but nobody's calling grandma a pedophile..

I agree. All I think is that with the exception of photojournalism, any model should give permission before being photorgraphed, regardless of age.
